Sebasteion or Augusteum, in Aphrodisias
The Sebasteion (Gr. Sebastós = Lat. Augustus) or Augusteum, in Aphrodisias (in modern Turkey AD 5) was jointly dedicated, according to a first cent. inscription on its propylon, “to Aphrodite, the Divine Augusti and the People.” The temple was used by the Imperial Cult to honor Augustus and the Julio-Claudian Emperors.
